Cut your cuticles back
Cutting or removing your cuticles creates a portal of entry for bacteria. This can very easily lead to infection of the cuticle and its surrounding area. For this reason, any dead skin can be reduced to a safe degree but complete removal or cutting back of the cuticle is not something we advise or practice at Your Podiatry Room.

Bathe or soak your feet
Foot baths/soaking of the feet is not something we do in the clinic. We avoid this to prevent the unhygienic spread of infection and maintain our infection control procedures.

Apply Nail Polish
We do not apply nail polish to our patients' toenails. Primarily due to the risk of cross-contamination amongst our patients.
